Update on the Portland Seedlings

Well, my seedlings in Palo Alto aren’t doing very much, but dad seems to be having better luck.

Top row (L-R): Cabbage, onions, fennel

It’s 3 weeks out from planting, and he’s had germination from everything except the fennel. The fennel was self-collected seed from the prior year, so there may have been errors in collecting the seed.

They were sown quite thickly. I think the next step is either thinning them in the pots they are in, or pricking them out into larger pots, but that will be up to my dad to do.

He’s also having good luck with the hazelnut seedlings. This one is growing really nicely:
