A Homegrown Salad (and Pesto!)

In my 2021 Garden Goals post, I said “If I can grow enough lettuce for one salad, I’ll consider it a successful gardening season.”

Well…

Ta-Daaa!

That is one salad made entirely of lettuce (Boston Bibb) that I grew myself!

To complement this salad, I harvested a cup of basil and made….

…pesto!

Delicious! I used a recipe from The Moosewood Cookbook – would recommend!

A successful garden season indeed! I may not have the most prolific garden this year, but I’ve grown a few things, and I’ve learned much more. And the season’s not even half over…
