Hardening off Tomatoes

Our last frost date is April 2, so it’s time to plant the tomatoes.

Their roots are pushing out of their newspaper pots, so they couldn’t be more ready for a new home.

But first, I need to harden them off. They have to get used to being outside in the bright sunshine.

I’m putting them outside on the porch for a few hours each day for the next few days.

I’ve also been sloppy about thinning them so they are packed together much too tightly and I have way too many tomato plants for my small garden space. Does anyone want some tomato seedlings?
