Harvesting Garlic

It’s nearly the end of July and I decided it was finally time to harvest the garlic.

The tops had started to flop over, which I’ve been told is a sign that they’re about ready to harvest.

I planted 12 cloves of garlic, and got…

…12 tiny bulbs of garlic. It’s a bit disappointing, but I used grocery store garlic, so my expectations where pretty low and I can’t complain.

I let the bulbs cure for a couple days, and they’re ready to go. They definitely smell garlicky!

I haven’t had a chance to cook with them yet, but I expect they’ll be good.
